End Of NaNoWriMo 2015 At The Ranch Pen

NaNoWriMo for 2015 is very nearly a done deal. I think I hit 50,000 words on day 23 and while that is what all participants are trying for, I have a GIANT mess to unravel. I tried to make the story about a particular character, but as I have been going back through the draft the past few days, I have realized I was writing the wrong character’s story. Bummer deal.

All is not lost, however. We old farm gals are used to salvaging things out of the junk pile, so perhaps there is a shining, gold nugget in all those words somewhere to make squeezing out two hours of extra writing time between 5:30-7:30 am almost every day in November worth the effort.

As of this morning, my fellow Oklahomans have racked up over 2,241,000 words in NaNo. Who knows…? There might be a Pulitzer in there somewhere.

Until next time, God bless all y’all. Be careful out there during the holiday season.

  1. Hey, nice work Danni! I say nothing wasted. You’ll find a few things to salvage, and you learned some things about the story–even if it’s that you’re writing the wrong character’s story. Good to know, right?

Go ahead, make my day. Add your thoughts
